I have been involved in the photographic industry for nearly 40 years, including working as a photographer and 20 years as a lecturer in professional photography. Currently, I am working in Palmerston North as a photographer as well as running workshops and mentoring photographers.
I am an NZIPP Master of Photography with Distinction and have exhibited numerous times over the years. My main passion is photographing people, and this exhibition is a small collection of creative portraits from 2021-2026 from the NZIPP Iris awards, that reflect my style.
I shoot a wide range of portrait types that show my minimalist personal style. I intend my images to engage with the viewer, with the subject looking at you as though they are trying to say something to you. I like dramatic images and try to combine a hint of darkness and melancholy with strength and beauty.
