Emma Spender
I am a local amateur photographer interested in uncovering the interesting in the ordinary. Drawn to visions that let my eyes linger a little longer, I let the camera follow my curiosity. Armed with a selection of second hand cameras, the past few years have seen me experimenting with 35mm film. Letting the characteristics of the film stock shine through along with the delayed gratification inherent to the technology add to the intriguing nature of the analog process.
Drawn from my personal archive, this exhibition features photos that evoke a sense of the liminal, dream-like spaces we may find ourselves in during our daily lives that are easily missed. These images explore transitional areas from one point to another; the places between A and B, evoking both a sense of unease and possibility.
