Darth is a Heretaunga-raised photographer exploring identity, community and cultural connection through his work. His FOTOFEST 2026 exhibition, Faces; Places, considers how dress, adornment and cultural practice become acts of steadfast identity. Tracing a shared revolutionary spirit—from Black liberation, reggae and hip-hop to the resurgence of moko, te reo Māori and kaupapa Māori education—the work imagines a deeper, reciprocal exchange between Māori and African American communities.
