What is your favourite time of day or location to shoot?
Love early morning light and the long shadows that creates, especially in winter.

Phone or SLR  ? preference/ reason why for you
My phone because that's usually what I have on me! Life is busy and I'm a bit of an opportunist photographer - rather than deliberately going out to take photos, I just see things in my everyday life that are beautiful and try to capture that.

One tip that is always your go to when shooting
Take the time to look around. There's always something interesting to photograph, you don't really have to go out of your way to find it. You just have to be open-minded and observant.

Do you have any photographers you follow or admire that inspire you ?
My dad! He's been into photography for as long as I can remember and I learned a lot from him just by osmosis. Lots of fond memories of going on adventures to take pictures, sometimes getting up for the sunrise.

Tell us about one of your images. How and where you shot it, time of day, anything that inspired you to get this shot. Is there a story you could share ?
The photo of the books is taken in a second hand bookshop in Napier, had the rare opportunity to amble slowly without my kids and peruse at my leisure. There's this whole shelf of classic books, I'm so obsessed with the visible evidence of a book's lifespan. The ability of a photo to capture the texture and the detail, the character of a worn, battered, well-loved book is something I can't get enough of. If I could capture the smell, I would do that too!

What do you enjoy most about taking photographs?
Finding details or angles that maybe other people have overlooked. In our busy lives we pass by so many fascinating little details.
